A Message From Mrs. Sharp: Pirate Nation: Here we go again for round 2 of work packets! Our teachers have done their part and SEVERAL students have already turned in their packets EARLY from this week! Parents and students can continue to turn in packets next week at the High School office for grades 6-12 starting at 11:30 Monday, March 23. At that time they can pick up the new learning packets and the online assignments will also be posted on the district website. Remember they only have to do one or the other, but not both online and paper packets 😀 Students who have NOT attempted either forms of work..... shame on you! You are a Pirate 🏴‍☠️ and we expect MORE of you. I will be making phone calls and home visits to get you back in the learning Mindset. Please email jsharp@chiltonisd.org if you have questions or issues with getting learning packets.

A Message From Mrs. Ross: Good afternoon Chilton Elementary Parents!!!! I certainly pray that everyone is safe and healthy during these times! Please let your child(ren) know that Ms. Ross and our teaching staff misses them so much! We can’t wait until this is over!!!! Please encourage your child(ren) to read daily! We will be sending resources home over the next couple of weeks to help with that!!!! Also, we will have a fresh round of work packets available on Monday and Tuesday from 11:00-6:00PM at the elementary building. Additional packets will be left outside the elementary entrance if those pick up times do not accommodate your schedule. You can also turn in your child’s packets from March 16-20 (if they are finished). Please make sure your child’s name and grade are on their packets. We will ensure those get to your child’s teacher to review. Also, to help facilitate our online learning options, we will be checking out chrome books to students in 3rd-5th grades. Please remember our online usage rules! You can come to the elementary building from 11:00AM-6:00PM on Monday and Tuesday to pick up your child’s chrome book. Unfortunately, we can only check out devices to the student or parent who will be responsible for the device. If these times don’t work with your schedule, please contact Ms. Ross via email at cross@chiltonisd.org. I will do my best to work with you! Parents, thank you for all you are doing to support our students! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me or your child’s teacher. Additional ways to contact us will be on the district website very soon!!! Remember, we are here to support you so please let us know how we can help!!!!💙💙💙

Pirate Nation, Out of an abundance of caution and concern for the safety and well-being of our students and families, we have made the proactive decision to extend closure through Friday, March 27, 2020. Though we have no reported cases within the community, we do understand there are cases in neighboring counties. Even though we are extending campus closure, we cannot discontinue learning and student development. Though this situation presents a challenge to the Chilton ISD, I am certain that our institution will become stronger as a result of this situation. Learning plans for the week of March 23, 2020 will be available online by Monday, March 23, 2020. Plans will also be available for pickup at 11:30 a.m. on March 23, 2020 during the lunchtime service. In the coming weeks, we will work to establish virtual office hours for each Chilton ISD educator to ensure that students and parents have access to teachers for clarification on assignments. Furthermore, we will begin posting teacher instructional videos to facilitate the completion of assignments. Meal services will continue with breakfast served from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. daily on a grab and go basis. Lunch will also be available from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. daily. Please consult the district website and social media for updated information regarding the closure. Thank you for your cooperation and flexibility during these unprecedented times. Final One for Today: Mr. Chance Bacon is a local Windstream representative and service provider. As many of us adapt to these adjustments, he is able to provide assistance with the following services: Cable/Satellite (Direct, Dist, Grande, Spectrum) Internet (Windstream/Viasat) Phone Service (AT&T) Security Monitoring (Vivint) Electricity He is able to provide assistance that will work around many hardships as we transition to a remote learning platform in many areas. Thank you Mr. Bacon for being an available community resource for the Chilton ISD.

Day 1: Extended Break (March 16, 2020) Alert Status: Level 1 As we enter day 1 of our extended break, we want to ensure that you are aware of our available services for students. The Chilton ISD will offer Child Nutrition Services to all students within the community. Breakfast will be offered on a grab-and-go basis from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. daily. Lunch will be provided on a grab-and-go basis from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. daily. Additionally, the Chilton ISD is working to prepare and disseminate learning plans for all students within the district. These plans will be available online at the Chilton ISD website under the documents tab and in the COVID-19 Folder. There will be also be hard copies available for those who prefer hard copies. Plans will be posted and available for pick-up by 11:30 a.m. on Monday, March 16, 2020. In order to ensure that we are not required to make up this week of attendance, the Chilton ISD must provide learning opportunities for all students. We are working to better refine this process as we are moving into uncharted territory. However, I am confident that the administrative team and our teachers will develop plans to provide the best opportunities for our students. Thanks for your cooperation and flexibility. We will continue to keep you informed.

Good Afternoon Pirate Nation. Given the recommendation of state and national leaders, we will extend Spring Break through Friday, March 20, 2020. We will meet with district leadership this afternoon to release more specific plans as it relates to our closure, feeding opportunities, and learning opportunities for students during this closure. Please stay tuned for additional information regarding this extended closure. As the concern is preventing the spread of illness, we encourage parents and students to monitor travel and activity to decrease additional exposure. Thanks for your cooperation and understanding.
