Mindset Thought For Today:
Adversity is a catalyst for creativity. It is the breeding ground of personal growth. When we interviewed men and women of success and happiness, they always pointed to times of great adversity; when they built the skills, developed the Mindsets, or forged the relationships that ultimately defined their success. How can we take this time of uncertainty, fear, and challenge; and use it as a building block for a better life and a better world?

From problem to promise...The biggest problems are often necessary for the most innovative solutions.

Kevin Carrizales
Kevin has enlisted in the Marine Corps, and will begin bootcamp shortly after graduation. His favorite class in high school was Art. He cherishes all of the memories that he made going to regionals in track every year. He also appreciated the time that he was able to be there for his close friends and enjoy life together with his classmates. Kevin wants to tell underclassman to enjoy the time that they have left, because high school is a thing that happens once in a lifetime. Be there for each other and be kind to others. If you’re in a tough situation in life or going through a lot of things, never give up! Pick yourself up and push yourself through it. He reminds you that you’re not alone and you can always reach out to him, your parents, and most importantly, God. Keep your heads up and finish strong (in school, athletics, work, and life)!
Congrats, Kevin! Your Pirate Legacy will not be forgotten!

Sorry Pirate Nation,
I meant to schedule that message for tomorrow morning. I'm a bit of a night owl and program my messages to go out the next morning. Ooops!
Good Morning Parents and Guardians of Elementary Students:
Please visit the Chilton ISD website for specific information regarding accessing the google classroom platform for your child's teacher. Lectures will be posted that will assist students in completing their assignments. Additionally, classroom office hours are posted that will allow additional contact with teachers. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Candice Ross at cross@chiltonisd.org. More detailed information can be found at in the news section of the Chilton ISD website.
Good Morning Pirate Nation,
Thank you to everyone working to ensure that our school continues to operate and that our students continue to experience learning. Assignments for the week of March 30, 2020 are now accessible online and packets are available for pickup on each campus. Both campuses will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday for assignment pick-up and drop-off. Additionally, administration will be present at the Marlin Dollar Tree location from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday for assignment pickup and drop-off.
As we move forward, we are not certain as to how long we have to operate remotely. Since that is the case, parents, please anticipate that our core teachers are taking, at least, two grades per week on assignments and elective teachers will take, at least, one grade weekly. In order to ensure that we are not required to make up time during the summer sessions, it is essential that we continue to ensure that our students are learning and that we are working to hold each other accountable during this transition. Contact information and virtual office hours are posted in the documents section of the Chilton ISD website in the COVID-19 folder. If you have any questions, please contact your campus principal or the district superintendent.
Teachers have arranged and posted zoom schedules to hold class sessions with students during this time of closure. The secondary teacher zoom schedules are posted in the COVID-19 folder on the district website. Please see the folder for the week of March 30.
We are working to expand our outside internet capabilities for students to access from the parking lot. This will allow students and families to access WiFi by driving onto the school premises. The idea is to maintain social distancing requirements while providing access to internet. We are continuing to work to find additional solutions that will serve our students well.
Thank you for your cooperation and flexibility during this time.
