Dr. Brandon K. Hubbard, Superintendent of Schools
Dr. Brandon Hubbard was named Superintendent of Schools for Chilton ISD in October of 2016. Dr. Hubbard is often characterized as a visionary who works tirelessly to ensure the academic, social, and emotional success of his students. He is also a relational leader who works to ensure that the Chilton ISD climate promotes sustained success.
Dr. Hubbard has demonstrated his commitment to education throughout his career by serving in the positions of high school science teacher, high school assistant principal, summer school lead administrator, middle and high school principal, interim superintendent, and superintendent of schools. Having served Chilton ISD since of July of 2012 as Secondary Principal and Superintendent, Mr. Hubbard has adopted the motto Per Aspera Ad Astra or Through difficulty to the Stars, for the Chilton ISD. Nestled in Falls County, TX, Chilton ISD serves a diverse student population with approximately 85% of students receiving free or reduced lunch services. Despite socio-economic barriers, Dr. Hubbard believes that pursuing excellence embodies the deconstruction and retooling of mediocre missions, mindsets, and methodologies. He believes that we must reflect on our systems to ensure that all students can learn at the highest levels.
Since his arrival in Chilton ISD, the district has earned high ratings in academic and fiscal performance. The Texas Education Agency gave Chilton ISD a “B” overall rating for academic performance. Additionally, Chilton ISD received a perfect, superior rating for financial management. In addition, Dr. Hubbard has championed several innovative initiatives to improve student performance and the student experience in Chilton ISD:
• Micro-Credentialing Professional Learning Program: Micro-credentialing is a competency based professional learning model that will allow Chilton ISD to expand its professional development (PD) opportunities for educators to impact student learning, academic performance, and college and career readiness. This model encourages teachers to take learning to the application level.
• 7 Mindsets SEL Program: Dr. Hubbard believes that culture precedes achievement. Success requires students, teachers, administrators, and the community to develop the necessary mental frameworks to persist through achievement.
• Certification-Based CTE Programming: Through a partnership with the Greater Waco Advanced Manufacturing Academy and the Greater Waco Advanced Healthcare Academy, Chilton ISD was able to increase the percentage of 2021 certified graduates to 31 percent.
• Footsteps2Brilliance: In an effort to ensure that all Chilton ISD students are on grade level by third grade, Dr. Hubbard began a community literacy initiative that seeks to help parents engage their children in literacy instruction beginning at age 0.
Since beginning his tenure in education, Dr. Hubbard has received several notable accolades. In 2015, Dr. Hubbard was awarded a scholarship through Raise Your Hand Texas that afforded him the opportunity to study at the Harvard Principal Center.
