Thought: Adrianna Kenebrew is legally blind, but you wouldn't know it if you watched her compete in her favorite sport, gymnastics. In the video below, you will see her overcome many obstacles to pursue her passion. It may seem as though your passion has been “put on hold” during the current crisis. However, it is important to look for ways to pursue your passions and explore your interests.
Take a stand, embrace creativity, and continue to do the things you love.
Quote of the Day: "Find something you are passionate about and keep tremendously interested in it."

Good Morning Pirate Nation. This week we are back to implementing our remote learning plans for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. Please remember that even though the buildings are closed, teaching and learning must continue. For the week of April 20, 2020 remote learning plans are as follows:
Elementary (Per Mrs. Ross)
There will not be any new packets available for students this week. The elementary campus will focus on giving students the opportunity to catch up on the previous learning packets distributed. It is critical that students complete and return those assignments to ensure that teachers can evaluate student progress and performance. Option and enrichment learning opportunities will be available on the district website. Please check with your child’s teacher about any work your child may be missing. Completed work can be returned to the elementary campus daily from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For questions or concerns, please call 254-546-1225.
Secondary (Per Mrs. Sharp)
New assignments will be available for secondary students on Monday, April 20, 2020. Assignments will be available in traditional paper formats and via online platforms. Packet distribution and return will be from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2020 and from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. all other days. Mrs. Sharp will be in Marlin on Tuesday, April 21 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please visit the news section of the Chilton ISD website (www.chiltonisd.org) or the district Facebook page for additional information.
Athletes, Coach James will be available to distribute resistance bands and jump ropes for athletes to support conditioning during closure. Please remember that if you want to be a champion, you must work like a champion. Your character is not defined by what you do when others are watching. Your character is who you are when no one is watching.
Also, seniors, Mrs. Lipsey will be available from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. to distribute graduation orders. Please stay tuned as we are working on a plan for graduation. Plans will be finalized after we receive additional guidelines from the governor.
Thank you for your flexibility during these unprecedented times. As always Pirate Nation, please remember, that #WeRefuseToSink.
George Barrientos
George wishes to go to the army after graduation, with hopes to join the special forces. His favorite classes in high school were athletics and ag. A Message from Mr. Hubbard:
Good Evening Pirate Nation. I am convinced that I work in the greatest school district in the world with the greatest staff, students, and parents in the world. Thanks to each of you that have participated in the first day of our Virtual Spirit Week. A special thank you to all the walkers and sponsors that made the Walk for Chilton Community Event a success. Thanks to the walkers in Chilton and throughout the community.
The highlight of my day has been watching and posting the many TikTok videos that have been sent to me. I have decided to give several awards for the TikTok challenge because so many people participated:
The Funniest TikTok Award goes to Mrs. Kimberly Oliver in her Hide and Seek TikTok video.
The Most Creative Award goes to Coach Darvis Brandon for his Agricultural Integration.
The Most Relevant TikTok Award goes to Evan Maxey in his portrayal of the runaway student.
The Most Team Spirit Team Award goes to the Volleyball Squad.
The Most School Spirit Award goes to our Throwback Pep Squad of Mrs. Coach Black, Mrs. Lahoma Taylor, and Mrs. Jennifer Sharp.
The purpose of TikTok Tuesday Spirit Day was to reassure everyone that we can still smile through tough times. I hope everyone enjoyed creating and watching the videos.
Wednesday, April 15, 2020 is Drop Everything And Read or DEAR Wednesday. We encourage everyone to take a few minutes and spend time reading a book that is inspirational to you. As always, I will try and keep our social media current with images. Tomorrow our Community Zoom will begin at 10:00 a.m. We will hold a virtual scavenger hunt that you will not want to miss. Our Motivational Moment will be given by Mrs. Jennifer Sharp, Secondary Principal at 11:00 p.m. We will continue with our Elementary and Secondary activities to encourage engagement. Finally, we will post a reflection activity for all Chilton ISD stakeholders to engage. Our Mindset Focus will be the 100% Accountable Mindset.
I look forward to seeing each of you tomorrow on the Community Zoom meeting.
