The American Rocketry Challenge is the world’s largest rocket contest with nearly 5,000 students nationwide competing annually. The contest gives middle and high school students the opportunity to design, build and launch model rockets, in addition to, hands-on experience solving relevant engineering problems. Through the Chilton ISD partnership with the Greater Waco Advanced Manufacturing Academy, Chilton ISD was represented in the competition by Adrian de la Fuente, Anson Jones, and Lawrence Stock. With a goal of reaching 800 feet in a given time, these students recorded the best result in GWAMA's six year history. This launch was evaluated by representatives of the SpaceX corporation. Because of their successful launch, these students could possibly have the opportunity to qualify for the national competition as one of the 100 best launch results in the nation. Congratulations to these students for their hard-work and dedication. Let's wish them well as they may have the opportunity to compete nationally. Good Morning Pirate Nation. Online registration for the 2021-2022 school year has begun. Please log into your parent portal account to complete online registration for your returning students going into Grades 1 - 12. Please remember that in addition to the online registration there were hard copy documents sent home in April. We will need you to complete both the online process and return the documents that were sent home. If you require assistance, we have a registration center set up in the PEIMS Coordinator's office on the high school campus. Additionally, you may contact the PEIMS Coordinator at 254-546-1228 or lcanada@chiltonisd.org. A final reminder that we have a few additional vacancies in our early education program, grades Pre-kindergarten and Kindergarten. These vacancies will be filled on a first come, first served basis. We are accepting transfers into our early education program. Thank you for helping us to facilitate updated registration process.

Dear Chilton ISD Staff Members and Students, The past two academic years have presented unprecedented challenges for families and educators. The fact that many of us have persisted through personal, financial, emotional, and academic challenges demonstrates the heart and grit that characterizes the Chilton ISD. For that matter, I am convinced that the STAAR assessment is no match for our students and teachers. Parents, we ask that you ensure that your students get a good night’s rest. Students, work hard and be confident that you will perform at your best. Teachers, thank you for your hard work and dedication in making sure that our students received your best. As we approach the 21-22 school year, we will release our strategic plan to regain academic, social, and emotional losses experienced during the COVID shutdown. Please be on the lookout for our Project RISE (Revitalize. Innovate. Sustain. Empower) initiative. Teachers and students, in closing, you are more than your score. #RefuseToSink #ChallengeSupportGrow
